What a blast Jane and I had in Philadelphia!!! We took the 7am train from Penn Station to 30th st Station in Philly and it was my first train ride and I loved it. Once we got there we took a cab out to the Free Library of Philadelphia to print out our trolley tickets. It was the most beautiful library I've ever seen. Once we had our tickets we made our way to the trolley meeting point and had to figured out the subway which was very confusing unlike the NY subways. Philly has four different types of public transportation: trolley, subway, railroad, and light rail. We found nothing that had all of them on one map because they were all on individual sheets (hundreds)....so frustrating. Finally making it to our destination we were starved and found a breakfast joint nearby called Benny's Place. Food was good and Jane was finally starting to wake up ;-)Our trolley was awesome and definitely the best way to see the city in a day. You could ride it all day and get on and off at any designated stop you want. We first road the trolley all the way through listening to our fantastic tour guide and then decided where we wanted to get off and see things on the next trip. We saw so many things it was overwhelming.
Click on the map to get a view of all the landmarks we got to see. At the end of the tour we decided the next trip around we would stop to see the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House, Eastern State Penitentiary audio tour, and finally ended at South Street. Philadelphia is beautiful with so much history to see and the people there are really nice. Jane really liked Philly and would totally live there if they had more of a job industry then waiting tables.Once we got to South Street we found a place to get a famous Philly Cheesesteak with wiz at Steaks on South. It was pretty good but very rich and we could only eat half of it, not sure how people can eat these all the time. After dinner Jane and I were exhausted and ready to head back home. We called Amtrak and were able to take an early train at 7:20pm and made it home by 10:30pm. We crashed hard that night for it was a long day and Jane was burnt with bad swollen feet. My feet and skin were fine but I'm used the walking all the time and always in the sun.
What a fun day :-) See pictures

I like the guy picking his nose in the background, it adds just that special touch to the photo.
