Saturday afternoon Mike Gee (co-worker, Redmond) and I flew into JFK about the same time so we decided to take a cab together into Manhattan. He stayed at my apt since the company apt was booked until Sunday. By the time we got to my apt and dropped off our bags we were both starved and went straight to my favorite Italian restaurant Carmine's for dinner. Mike loved it and be both stuffed ourselves. Then we headed to Steve's birthday party at Dive 75 Bar but only stayed for one drink. On our walk back we passed this hair salon for kids and the chairs were planes and race cars, it was awesome. See the picture. By the time we got back we were both exhausted and were asleep by 9:30pm EST time.
We both woke up around 6:30am and Mike was ready to see NY; this is his first time here. We walked ALL day. Started at Central Park, breakfast at Good Enough to Eat (my new favorite breakfast place), down to Battery Park, Liberty Island, Ellis Island, Wall street, Trinity church, ground zero, walked the Brooklyn bridge, Chinatown, Little Italy (missed most of it from being lost), Terrace Club to check Mike in, and back to my apartment. After Mike got his bag and left I crashed hard on my couch, my feet are killing me and can't wait to relax. What a fun day despite my achy and swollen feet (didn't even need to wear my rain boots, no rain as predicted). See pictures
